Kyoto Station
Hello Kyoto!
Arrived at Kyoto station by 6.14AM in the morning. We were earlier than the sunrise. :p It was very dark, luckily the train had started to operate by that time. There were only some early riser that already waiting for the train to come.

Mr. F looking for the route :p

Osaka pedestrian walk

on the way to Shimoshinjo
We booked a room / apartment by airbnb at Shimoshinjo area. Luckily, it was very near from the train station. There were Family Mart and coin laundry within less than 5 minutes walk in the neighborhood.
If you need some reference, visit here to check out which room we booked. It fits for 2 person maximum. It was a very compact room / apartment with small pantry cabinet (electric stove, tiny sink and small fridge). Don’t expect a big bathroom, since japanese house is popular for being compact and minimalist design.

The owner provides a hairdryer, some towels, cleaning equipment, electric water heater, 2 glasses for drink, some amenities for 2 person. You don’t need to worry about bath soap and shampoo since she provides them too!
Sorry I didn’t take a photo for the whole room photos. Because it was very compact, my camera could not captured it well. 😦 So you will sleep on futon bed with thick blanket too. The room has air conditioner that has heater mode too. You don’t have to worry to catch a cold in cold shower, since there is water heater in the bathroom too.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the unit is located at first floor (walk up 1 staircase), so you need to carry your luggage from the staircase. The staircase was a bit small, be careful when you climb it.

neighborhood
We did not worry about everything here. Since almost everything that we need can be reached in less than 10 minutes. Around 5 minutes to the Shimoshinjo Station (Hankyu Line), Family Mart nearby the station, many vending machines almost every corner of the streets, and coin laundry just at the corner of the apartment!
Please note that there are so many stations that doesn’t provide elevator (or maybe we couldn’t find it) by the time we were there. So please travel light or else you need to work out a lot. 😦

Shimoshinjo Station
We were heading to Ibaraki after this! I’ll share with you in next post! 🙂
