A monument found nearby Kawasaki Station, on our way to Mitsui Shopping Park Lazona Kawasaki Plaza
Kawasaki, a place where Mr. F grew up alone in Japan for study. I was happy that we visited the area. I wanted to know where he study before. While we were walking around, he told me this and that..what he did around here, where he went to, etc. I’m happy that he shared part of his life. It feels so nostalgic for him.
How to go?
Minatomirai Station via minatomirai line express – Yokohama Station – JR Ueno Tokyo Line – Kawasaki Station
First we visited Mitsui Shopping Park Lazona Kawasaki Plaza (a very long name, I know). We looked around what’s inside the mall, we found LOFT, a stationary store that sells many things about stationary (Japanese is very detail in stationary). There are so many cute items, unbelievably useful stationary, cute and creative greeting cards, so on. And other stores in the mall has many promotions and year-end sale!
Second, went to a street with many shops and restaurants. But not as crowded as Asakusa in Tokyo or Nanba in Osaka.
Not so crowded and some stores were still close. I think it’s still in New Year vibes.
Purchase Starbucks Card and trying the seasonal beverage, Banana Chocolate Frappuccino
We purchased our lunch at Matsu-Ben
Mr. F Japanese school before (the building on the right) 🙂
Mr. F brought me there to show his previous school. He wanted to introduce me with the tomato soup noodle not far from the school but unfortunately it was closed for new year holiday so does the hair salon that he planned to visit for a hair cut. Hair salon in Japan is not cheap but worth the penny, he said.
Sadly, we can’t achieve what we planned. So we head to Roppongi Hills to see the illumination at Caretta Shiodome. It’s always been the biggest and most beautiful illumination every year. 🙂
How to go?
Kawasaki Station via JR Ueno Tokyo Line – Shinagawa Station – via JR Yamanote Line – Ebisu (Tokyo) Station – via Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line – Roppongi Station
From Roppongi Station we still need to take a walk to Caretta Shiodome. There were so many illuminations along the way. *o*
Celebrating the upcoming Rooster Year
Can you see me?
Hello Tokyo Tower!
Don’t ask me where the illuminations were, because we just randomly walk around. hehe. We were looking for Caretta Shiodome. Sadly (again), the illumination for Caretta Shiodome were not lit up that day. It might be because of the New Year? But we’ve checked at the website before that it will still lit up till few days after New Year…but… we couldn’t say anything. We were sad, disappointed, tired because there are many plans that couldn’t be done because of Christmas and New Year holiday. 😥 many things we’ve learnt from New Year in Japan. Too many disappointments, too many places closed. 😥
Other spot at Caretta Shiodome that has illumination. Nobody there. Sad… 😦 We sat there for a few minutes… straighten our legs because we were looking around the place where Caretta Shiodome were, we walked as fast as we could because we were afraid that it will lit off soon. But that day the illumination turned off because of New Year. 😥

Hope next day trip will go well
