06.36 AM, yawn~
Cute shop shutter in the neighborhood
Pardon my sleepy eyes, we slept less the previous night and we need to depart early to because we will have a long trip to Shirakawa-Go! Are you excited? Because I am!
Many types of bento (these photos are kids bento) sold in Tokyo Station basement (if you will use shinkansen)
Fried Lotus Roots with Lemon Flavor, Daiso
We did not buy bento at Tokyo Station it’s because it’s pricey. We bought some snacks with us that we bought previous days. But well, I want to try to purchase one bento one day in Tokyo Station. :p
Our shinkansen departed on 09.30 AM. We expected the trip will be 2 hours.
How to go?
Itabashi Station – via JR Saikyo Line – Omiya (Saitama) – Kagayaki shinkansen – Toyama Station
Pocky for men?? It’s just an ordinary Pocky but thicker
Beautiful mountains
Then I see the ocean
Arrived at Toyama Station on 11.36 AM. The weather was sunny, not so windy.
Huge sushi replica
Small train station for tram nearby the station lobby
Coat asos | Mom’s Mickey Sweater | scarf H&M | boots bought in Osaka
The floor tiles changed colors as we walk
Toyama station lobby with New Year decoration
As we arrived in Toyama Station, to reach Shirakawa Go, we need to go by bus. The bus stop is located just the lobby of the station. But you needed to purchase the bus ticket at the information desk at the building outside the station, located at the left side when you exit the station.
It’s very helpful that the brochure came in english too! They also put the timetable for the bus.
Toyama City is not as big like Osaka or Tokyo. The city is still developing with modern architectures around the town while the heritage / old building still maintained by the citizen.
We are getting closer~
Shirakawa-Go~
We arrived at 1.30PM and we need to catch a bus home at 4PM. First we wanted to climb the hill, where everyone go there to see Shirakawa-Go from top. It’s not far. It took us around 10 minutes till the top.
Shirakawa-Go from top
The water in the drain was so clear!
Fishes in the drain! Sorry I don’t know what fishes were they. Is it trout?
Passed by a house where there are many visitors entered. But we didn’t, we prefer to look around because this area has so many area to be explored
I wonder, how if the icicles fell on somebody’s head? >_<
See how thick the roof from the straws and the roof suitable for the 4 seasons!
Saw a guy cosplaying as a cat lady..so cute..he was taking photo with self timer in front of the temple
Go a little bit up, then we saw the area covered in snow, so much different with just now we stand in front of the temple. There were no snow there.
I don’t know why he is always happy to see a pile of snow
It was 3PM when we reach this spot where we see a bridge and parking lot. Then we realized that we were exploring at the wrong side of Shirakawa-Go. We should across the bridge to see the 3 heritage houses that became the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Too bad the time was limited so we did not across the bridge. 😦
So we headed back to the bus stop and passed by the main road in the village that full of souvenir shops. Some of the shop owner could speak english!
Always always love Japanese cars! So tiny! This car comes in blue color, so cute that I want to take a photo with it
Souvenir shops in many architecture styles
Finally it’s my time to fill my tummy. Teriyaki chicken salad ❤
Good bye Shirakawa-Go~ I will come again in other season!
